What are Exosomes?

In aesthetics, exosomes are used as a cutting-edge regenerative treatment to rejuvenate the skin, reduce inflammation, and stimulate collagen production. They are nano-sized extracellular vesicles (30–150 nanometers) released by stem cells, particularly mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), and they carry growth factors, peptides, lipids, and RNA that promote healing and cell regeneration.

How are Exosomes Used (Application Methods)

  • Topical application after microneedling or laser treatments.

  • Microneedling with Exosomes, the exosomes are applied during microneedling, which allows the growth factors to penetrate deep into the skin, allowing for more effective and faster results.

  • Injectable form, similar to how dermal fillers or PRP (platelet-rich plasma) are delivered. This method isn’t as popular as the other 2.

What are exosomes good for? (Key Benefits)

  1. Skin Rejuvenation: Improves texture, tone, and firmness by boosting collagen and elastin.

  2. Anti-Aging: Reduces fine lines, wrinkles, and signs of aging through cellular repair.

  3. Brightening and Even Skin Tone: Helps reduce pigmentation and sun damage.

  4. Post-Treatment Recovery: Speeds healing after microneedling, lasers, or chemical peels by calming inflammation and promoting tissue repair.

  5. Hair Restoration: Supports scalp health and can stimulate hair growth when injected or applied topically.

Why It’s Gaining Popularity:

  • Non-invasive or minimally invasive.

  • No live cells, so fewer risks than stem cell therapies.

  • Strong regenerative properties with low risk of immune rejection.
